Generators are used to power Industrial Craft 2 machines and charge EU Storage devices. Generators are required to get a good start in a new world by supplying power to lower-tier and basic machines. They are also necessary to craft higher tier power-generating machines, like the Geothermal Generator.
The basic Generators operate on conventional fuel, which includes most wooden items (planks, logs, etc.), Charcoal, Coal, Coalfuel Cells, Biofuel Cells, certain plants, and Scrap. While costly in terms of fuel, basic generators are also one of the most mobile power sources, and don't suffer the drawbacks of requiring sunlight, water, lava, or proper wind as the case is with the other types of generators. When wired up to a machine, the Generator will power it until it runs out of power itself.
Tip: Scaffold very efficiency Fuel
ex: Wood 1 stock(64)-> Scaffold 14 stock(896)(672000EU)
But Wood to charcoal without burning Fuel calculation ex: Charcoal 1 stock(64)-> 256000EU
The generator will output power at a rate of 10 EU/t. You can also charge RE Batteries by placing them in the top slot. For a fuel to automatically be supplied through a transport pipe into the bottom slot, the pipe must be connected to the bottom side of the Generator.
The Generator can store up to 4000 EU by itself. It is recommended to use an energy storage device such as a BatBox because a single Coal or Charcoal produces enough energy to fill a Generator.
